Cause For Paws, A Lincoln Business to Help Animal Charities
There is a new business open in Lincoln Nebraska called Cause For Paws. This unique establishment raises money to help leading Nebraska animal charities through retail sales. We accept donations of gently used clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags, decorative items, glassware, household items, and electronics and just about anything that is in good condition. Owner and Sales Manager Adair Sue Smith-Sturgis (Sue) has decades of skill selling high end women’s clothing and accessories. She was a fashion coordinator at the former Hovlan Swansons and J Braggs of Lincoln. Sue wanted to use her skills at fashion sales to help raise money for the true love of her life, animals in need.
When a business property opened up next to Nebraska Animal Medical Center (NAMC) in Old Cheney Plaza Sue jumped at the opportunity. It’s a great location with lots of traffic most of them animal lovers. We started revamping the location (a former day care center) and opened for business December 11th 2008.  I knew that the more people found out about our cause the busier we would get, Said Sue

Everyone that comes in the store is so positive about the concept. People bring in donations then something catches their eye. They look around, find something they like and make a purchase. You just can’t beat that! Don’t be fooled this is not a musty old second hand store. It’s more like a boutique, Sue Calls it “Boutique for Cheap”! You’ll get great personal service to put together a look you desire and find some things you just didn’t expect!
